Holter/ELR

Holter & External Loop Recorder (ELR) Monitoring – Next-Level Cardiac Diagnostics

Why Monitoring Matters

At PVMEDIPOINT, we believe in proactive heart-health management. Irregular heart rhythms, palpitations, fainting spells or unexplained dizziness may signal underlying cardiac arrhythmias that standard ECGs may miss. Short-term recordings often capture only part of the story. That’s why we offer advanced ambulatory monitoring solutions – both Holter and External Loop Recorder (ELR) technology to give clinicians a fuller, clearer picture of cardiac activity over time.

What is Holter & Why Use It

A Holter monitor records your heart’s electrical activity continuously – typically for 24–48 hours, while you go about your daily life. It’s ideal when symptoms are frequent, allowing a detailed view of heart rhythm changes in the short term.

What is an External Loop Recorder (ELR)

An ELR is a wearable device designed for longer-term monitoring — often 7 days to 30 days (or more) — providing extended surveillance of heart rhythm when events are less frequent or elusive. It captures data as you live your normal life, increasing the diagnostic yield for intermittent arrhythmias.

The PVMEDIPOINT Advantage

  • State-of-the-art devices & software – We deploy modern ambulatory monitors that deliver detailed, full-disclosure ECG data, enabling comprehensive analysis rather than snapshots.
  • Flexible monitoring duration – Choose from short-term Holter or extended ELR – we tailor the duration to your symptoms, history and physician’s recommendation.
  • Comfort & convenience – Wearable and portable equipment lets you continue your daily activities with minimal interruption while monitoring occurs.
  • Expert interpretation – Our team of cardiac technologists and cardiologists review the full signal, correlate symptoms, and deliver clear, actionable reports.
  • Local support, global standards – Based in India, PVMEDIPOINT offers world-class diagnostics backed by global monitoring standards.

When is Monitoring Recommended?

We recommend Holter or ELR in situations such as:

  • Recurrent palpitations, skipped beats or flutter sensations
  • Transient dizziness, fainting (syncope) or near-collapse episodes
  • Unexplained shortness of breath, chest discomfort linked to rhythm issues
  • Monitoring effectiveness of anti-arrhythmic therapy or pacemaker/defibrillator functioning
  • Screening for risk of arrhythmias in structural heart disease or post-infarct patients

How It Works – Patient Journey

  1. Consultation & device fitting: Our technician attaches electrodes and the monitoring unit, explains instructions and provides a symptom diary.
  2. Ambulatory wear phase: You wear the device during your normal routine, note any symptoms (time, activity) and avoid interfering devices/areas as advised.
  3. Device removal & upload: After the monitoring period, the device is returned and signals/data are uploaded securely for analysis.
  4. Report & review: You receive a comprehensive report correlating ECG events, symptoms and activity. Your cardiologist discusses next steps based on findings.

Why Longer Monitoring Matters

Short-duration monitors may miss infrequent but clinically important arrhythmias. Extended monitoring (via ELR) increases the chances of capturing these events, enabling timely diagnosis and targeted care. By capturing full-disclosure data and correlating rhythm changes with daily activity and symptoms, our diagnostics set a higher standard for accuracy and insight.
